A superb and rare large aperture watch featuring a “Full complete calendar” complication, produced between 1943 and 1949 (known as the “Baby Picasso” without a moon phase).
Steel case with teardrop lugs and a clipped basin-shaped back (serial numbered, French case, “Banque Cantonale Vaudoise” anniversary signature 1845/1945). Superb original patinated silver dial signed Jaeger-LeCoultre with railway-track minute track, applied rose gold baton indexes, and applied rose gold Arabic numerals. Functions: hours, minutes, and large seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Perpetual date on the flange in red (read via a red pointer hand), day of the week and month via a window at 12 o’clock in French (set via integrated pushers on the side of the case). Rose gold spear-shaped hands and a vintage flat crown.
Vintage patinated leather strap with a pin buckle and a vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre Havana sport strap with a buckle.
This piece belonged to a former craftsman at Hermès Paris.
Movement: Mechanical manual winding calibre signed JAEGER-LeCOULTRE / 464 / Swiss numbered.
